Marie C. (Haverstock) Stough

Marie C. (Haverstock) Stough, 97, formerly of New Oxford, died Thursday, September 28, 2017, at Hanover Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Merle M. Stough, her husband of 74 years, who died November 5, 2015.

Marie was born December 26, 1919, in York Springs, the daughter of the late Mervin H. and Mamie (Wildasin) Haverstock.

Marie was a life member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Heidlersburg, and retired from Hanover Direct in 1985.  She was a member of the Adams County Fish and Game and AARP.

Marie is survived by two daughters, Wilma J. Lau and her husband Harold of East Berlin, and Wanda K. Kaltreider and her husband Lamar of Glenville, and a sister, Jean Wambaugh of York.  She was predeceased by two sisters, Mildred Baugher and Ruth Hoff, and a brother, Ray Haverstock.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at 11 AM at St. Paul’s “The Pines” Lutheran Church, 1535 Hunterstown-Hampton Rd, New Oxford, with Rev. David Clark officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  A viewing will be held on Monday from 6-8 PM at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, and on Tuesday at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark’s Heidlersburg Church- 2789 Heidlersburg Rd., Gettysburg, PA 17325 or Spirit Trust Lutheran at Utz Terrace-2100 Utz Terrace, Hanover, PA. 17331.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
