James K. Stock

James K. Stock, 92, of New Oxford, died Thursday, December 7, 2017, at The Brethren Home Community.  He was the husband of Doris Jean (Myers) Stock, his wife of 67 years.

Jim was born September 8, 1925, in New Oxford, the son of the late Harry C. and Martha M. (Keeney) Stock.

Jim was a member of St. Paul’s U.C.C. in New Oxford, a 1950 graduate of Gettysburg College, and served in the U.S. Army during the Battle of the Bulge.  He was the owner of Eicholtz Company from 1954 until 2002, and continued to work part time until his mid 80’s because of his love for his customers and his work.  He was a past master of Hebron Lodge #465 in New Oxford, and was a member of the New Oxford Lions Club, New Oxford Area Historical Society, East Berlin Area Historical Society, Hanover Area Historical Society, Adams County Historical Society, and the Antique Automobile Association of America, Gettysburg Region.  Jim also served on the boards of N.O.M.A., Farmer’s and Merchant’s Bank in New Oxford, CCNB Bank, The Brethren Home Foundation, and the New Oxford Cemetery Association.      

In addition to his wife Doris Jean, Jim is survived by a son, Alan J. Stock and his wife Elizabeth of Hanover, a daughter, Louise S. Gebhart and her husband Jason of York, two grandchildren, Lindsey Mummert Rocks and her husband Andrew of Ambler, and Mark A. Mummert of Washington, D.C., and a great granddaughter, Claire Jean Rocks of Ambler.  He was predeceased by a brother, Henry J. Stock.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at 10 AM, at St. Paul’s U.C.C., 20 S. Peters St, New Oxford, with his pastor, Rev. Thomas Lush officiating.  Burial will be in New Oxford Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Stock, Tom Shultz, Steve Alleman, Brad Nace, S. Forry Eisenhart, Jr, Mark Mummert, Andrew Rocks and C. Daniel Weber.   A visitation will be held on Friday from 5-8 PM at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford.  Memorial contributions may be made to VNA/Hospice, 440 N. Madison St, Hanover, PA  17331.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
