Woodrow "Woody" Martz, Jr. Obituary

Woodrow W. “Woody” Martz, Jr, 71, died Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at his residence.  He was the husband of Jeanette L. (Raber) Martz, his wife of 46 years.

Woody was born January 25, 1947, in New Oxford, the son of the late Woodrow W. and Irene M. (Sanders) Martz, Sr.

Woody was a member of First Lutheran Church in New Oxford, the McSherrystown Home Association, and he was a life member of United Hook & Ladder #33, and the New Oxford Social & Athletic Club.  He coached little league baseball in New Oxford for many years, and drove bus for the Conewago Valley School District for sports teams and field trips.  Woody was an avid golfer, served on the Adams County Thrivent Chapter Board, HARB for Straban Township, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. 

In addition to his wife Jeanette, Woody is survived by two daughters, Sherry L. Wildenstein and her husband Jeremy, and Rebecca S. Martz, all of New Oxford, three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Wildenstein, Hannah Wildenstein, and Layla Abdou-Saleye, and a sister, Barbara Martz of Hanover.  He was predeceased by a sister, Judy Reindollar.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 11 AM, at First Lutheran Church, 200 Lincoln Way East, New Oxford, with his pastor, Rev. Elizabeth D. George officiating.  A visitation will be held at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church, or to the ALS Foundation, 321 Norristown Rd, Ste 260, Ambler, PA  19002.  Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
