Verdell T. Harmon

Verdell (Thate) Harmon, 86, passed Friday, September 1, 2023, at her home.  She was the long-time companion of Raymond P. Traylor who passed April 22, 2022.

Verdell was born May 30, 1937, in Fairmont, MN, the daughter of the late Carl and Frieda (Fritz) Thate.

Verdell was a member of Ascension Evangelical Lutheran Church in Towson, MD, and was the 1973 MD state president of the Business and Professional Women’s Association, where she also was named Woman of The Year.

Verdell is survived by two stepdaughters, Dani Kushla of Wellsville, and Hope Miller of Spring Grove, a sister, Devorah F. Schwieger of Northfield, MN, a nephew, three nieces, and numerous great nephews and great nieces.

Funeral services will be private.  Memorial contributions may be made to the York County SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406.  Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 306 Harrisburg St, East Berlin, is in charge of arrangements.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
