Sterling F. “Jim” Feeser, 69, died peacefully at his home Thursday, May 27, 2021. He was the husband of Maria Guadalupe “Lupe” (Valdovinos) Feeser, his wife of 35 years.
Jim was born June 4, 1951 in York, the son of the late Sterling B. and Ada M. (Kessler) Feeser.
Jim was a 1969 graduate of New Oxford High School, a 1973 graduate of Penn State University, and a graduate of Foreign Language at the Complutense University of Madrid, in Madrid, Spain, and the College of Language, Literature, Culture and Communications in Morelos, Mexico. Jim was a retired Corporate Director of Human Resources at Pilgrim’s Pride New Oxford, a Spanish teacher at York Country Day School, and Assistant Director at the York Spanish American Center. He was the owner of Feeser’s Tavern in Abbottstown, and the co-owner of Valdovinos and Feeser Translation and Interpretation Services. Jim was a life member of the Penn State University Alumni Association, the College of Liberal Arts Alumni Association at Penn State, and he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served as co-chairperson for New Oxford High School class of 1969 board of directors, served on the York Suburban School District Superintendent’s Advisory Committee, and he was an Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow with the Boy Scouts of America.
In addition to his wife, Maria, Jim is survived by a son, Sterling Manuel Jose Feeser of Lancaster, a sister, Kathy Marsh-Zepeda of Abbottstown, and Lupe’s sister, Sandra Rueda (who Jim raised as a daughter), and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two half brothers, Charles “Sam” and William “Bill” McMaster.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 4, 2021 at 12 PM, from Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, with the Rev. Keith Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hanover. There will be a viewing at the funeral home Thursday, from 6-8 PM and Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service.
