Rose Mary "Rosie" Warren

Rose Mary “Rosie” Warren, 83, of New Oxford, entered into eternal life on January 10, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at Cross Keys Village-The Brethren Home Community.  She was the devoted wife of Myron C. Warren for 45 years.

Rosie was born September 22, 1935, in Hanover, the daughter of the late Robert A. and Mary A. (Riser) Nicholson.  She was the oldest of their nine daughters.

Rosie was a very active member of Immaculate Conception BVM Church in New Oxford, and was a 1953 graduate of Delone Catholic High School.  She was employed at the Hanover Glove Company, Elmer Wentz Carpet and Flooring, Colonial Shoe, and Parcel Plus.

On May 27, 1973, Rosie became a wife to Myron, and a mother to his three daughters, Wendy (Mitch) Diviney of New Oxford, Brena (Wayne) Storm of Hanover, and Jenette (Walt) Hawley of New Oxford.  She was “Grammy Rosie” to eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  Her sisters include Angela Gift of Gulfport, MS, Kathleen Yealy of Abbottstown, Margaret (Robert) Groft of Abbottstown, Janet (James) Groft of New Oxford, Elaine Nicholson of Abbottstown, and Nina (Robert) Grant of May Landing, NJ.  Many nieces and nephews will also miss her dearly as will her early morning swimming buddies at the Hanover YMCA.  Rosie was predeceased by two sisters, Marian Glass and Sister Maria SCC (Jeanne Nicholson), two brothers-in-law, Frank Gift and Carl Yealy, and a nephew, Patrick Yealy.

A Mass of Christian of Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2018, at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Basilica, 30 Basilica Dr, Hanover, with Rev. Joseph R. Howard as Celebrant.  Burial will be in New Oxford Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday, at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM, with prayers at 8 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Oxford Area Library, because Rosie was an avid reader, or to Delone Catholic High School, her alma mater.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
