Rickie Pope Obituary

Rickie A. Pope, 72, died Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at UPMC Hanover Hospital.  He was the husband of Laura J. (Shrader) Pope, his wife of 20 years.

Rickie was born May 31, 1948, in Hanover, the son of the late Amos R. and Dorothy M. (Lookingbill) Pope.

Rickie served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the South Hanover Bowling League.  Rickie loved going to the casino to play slots, fishing, bowling, playing guitar, and going to the beach, especially Wildwood, NJ. 

In addition to his wife Laura, Rickie is survived by two sons, Richard A. Pope and his wife Cathy of Dover, and Dwayne E. Pope of Gettysburg, a stepson, Justin D. Schratwieser and his wife Megan of Revere, MA, a step daughter, Jamie A. Schratwieser and her companion Eric of Core, WV, four grandchildren, two step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a sister, Betty Jane Pope of York.  He was predeceased by a brother, Gary W. Wagner, and a step grandson, Grayson Schratwieser.  

Funeral services will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 N.
