Philip Gerlach Obituary

Philip C. Gerlach, 81, passed Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at his home. He was the husband of Beverly A. (Little) Gerlach, his wife of 27 years.

Phil was born August 13, 1942, in Philadelphia, the son of the late William G. and Caroline (Wernert) Gerlach.

Phil was a quiet, soft spoken and kind person who lived a simple life and loved his family. He was a 1960 graduate of Roman Catholic High School, Philadelphia, a former City of Philadelphia police officer, and retired in 1997 from the United States Postal Service, as Postmaster of Willow Grove, PA. He was a member of: St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Gettysburg, United Postmasters and Managers of America, Penn State Master Gardner, and the New Oxford Social and Athletic Club.

In addition to his wife Beverly, Phil is survived by his children, Christine Buck and her husband T. James of Hartsville, David Gerlach and Jeanette of Blue Bell, Amy Conaway and her husband Terry of Gilbert, AZ, and Jeffrey Gerlach of Philadelphia, a step daughter, Tracy Kennedy of New Oxford, a step son, Toby Kennedy of New Oxford, nine grandchildren, five step grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren, a brother, Harry Gerlach and his wife Margaret of Alexandria, VA, and a brother-in-law, N. Richard Little and his wife Lynn of New Port Richey, FL.  He was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Esther Little.

Following cremation, a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 11:30 a.m., at Dillsburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.  Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
