Pauline L. (Zinn) Sauter, 94, died Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Brunswick at Longstown Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Frederick “Fred” M. Sauter, her husband of 64 years, who died December 10, 2009.
Pauline was born January 5, 1924 in Jackson Twp, PA, the daughter of the late Samuel F. and Minerva K. (Myers) Zinn.
Pauline was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, East Berlin, a life member of the East Berlin Historical Society and East Berlin Library, and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She worked along with her husband, as co-owner, of Fred M. Sauter Funeral Home for many years. Pauline loved to cook, and being a hostess. All were welcome in her home. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pauline is survived by a son, Stephen F. Sauter and his wife Joan of Abbottstown, two daughters: Constance E. Stidd and her husband Jay of Huntingdon, PA, and Sara A. Leppo of Spring Grove, a daughter-in-law, Linda N. Sauter of York, nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two brothers; Earl Zinn of Spring Grove and Charles Zinn of York, and one sister, Delores Whitman of York. She was predeceased by a son, Jesse A. Sauter, a grandson, Nathaniel W. Leppo, three sisters; Mary Freed, Ethel Hoover, and Eva Ort, two brothers; Sterling Zinn and John Zinn, and a son-in-law, Kim Leppo.
A Memorial Services will be held Friday, September 14, 2018 at 11:00AM from the Trinity Lutheran Church, 117 West King St., East Berlin, with Pastor Aaron Smith officiating. Burial will be in the East Berlin Union Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the church Friday, from 10 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to her church, Trinity Lutheran Church, 117 West King St., P.O. Box 1016, East Berlin, PA.17316, or a charity of your own choice.
