Olive I. (Kniesche) Jones

Olive I. (Kniesche) Jones, 101, died Monday, April 19, 2021 at her home.  She was the wife of the late Calvin L. Jones, who died in September 1999.

Olive was born July 13, 1919, in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of the late Harry F. and Nellie I. (Myers) Kniesche.

Olive was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Hanover, and the Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Society of PA.  She was a past Worthy Matron in the Order of The Eastern Star, a past Regent in the Daughters of The American Revolution, and a volunteer in the Pennsylvania Room at the Guthrie Memorial Library in Hanover.  Olive was an outstanding genealogist, and a member of several genealogy societies, and she was a docent at the National Archives in Washington, D.C.

Olive is survived by a daughter, Janet A. Orland of Abbottstown, a son, Jeffrey A. Jones of St. Petersburg, FL, 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a sister, Jeanne Miller, and a son-in-law, Herbert P. Orland, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 3 PM, at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, with Pastor Todd Christine officiating.  A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 2-3 PM.  Burial will be on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 11 AM at Parkwood Cemetery in Baltimore.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Society of PA, 3012 Old Pittsburgh Rd, New Castle, PA 16101.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
