Margaret B. “Margie” (Neiderer) Leese, 71, loving wife, mother and Gram, died peacefully at home surrounded by family, on June 7, 2023, and is now home with Jesus. She was the wife of Samuel H. Leese, her husband of 48 years
Margie was born December 14, 1951, in Hanover, the daughter of the late Fred and Grace (Smith) Neiderer.
Margie was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbottstown, where she served as Eucharistic Minister. She was employed at Middleburg Manufacturing in Hanover, Maggie’s Craft Store, and retired from East Berlin Family Medicine. She was a member of Council of Catholic Women, involved in Cub Scouts, and volunteered with Meals on Wheels, and East Berlin Community Center. Margie was a prolife advocate, and enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, music and volunteering.
In addition to her husband Sam, Margie is survived by her children, Paul A. Leese and his wife Bridget of Red Hill, Amy E. Hahn and her husband Mike of Glenville, Kimberly A. Leese of McSherrystown, and Joseph M. Leese and his wife Amber Rice of Bethlehem, four grandchildren, Maggie Leese, Nick Leese, Evan Leese and Colin Leese, two brothers, James Neiderer and his wife Ruthie and Tom Neiderer and his wife Linda, five sisters, Mary Gladfelter and her husband Phil, Jane Myers and her husband Perry, Teresa Winand her husband Rick, Linda Gilbert, and Pam Smeltzer and her husband Linsey, and two sisters-in-law, Linda Lee Neiderer and Deb Neiderer. She was predeceased by a sister, Joan Neiderer, and three brothers, Phil, Donald and Steve Neiderer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 11 AM, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6084 W. Canal Rd, Abbottstown, with Rev. Philip Burger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Leese, Perry Myers, Phil Gladfelter, Rick Winand, Linsey Smeltzer, Eric Neiderer, Tim Gladfelter and Reggie Stelfox. Viewings will be held on Monday from 6-8 PM at the church with prayers at 8 PM, and on Tuesday at the church from 10-11 AM.
