Janet I. (Ogburn) Sensenig, 74, passed Thursday, March 14, 2024, peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was the wife of Daniel A. Sensenig, her husband of 53 years.
Janet was born May 26, 1949, in Gettysburg, the daughter of the late Forrest M. and Anna Ruth (Geigley) Ogburn.
Janet was a member of Blue Ridge Mennonite Church in Carlisle, and enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels. People knew Janet for her cheerful disposition and smile, and she loved to be involved in people’s lives, especially her family.
In addition to her husband, Daniel, Janet is survived by two sons, Scott E. Sensenig and his wife Wanda, of Lagrange, IN, and Greg C. Sensenig and his wife Sheryl of New Oxford, two daughters, Pamela D. Garman and her husband Lloyd Jr, of Gettysburg, and Kimberly G. Stolzfus and her husband Jay of Delta, CO, eighteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two sisters, Grace Miller and her husband James of New Oxford, and Anna Ruth Brougher and her husband Robert of Gettysburg, one brother, Daniel Ogburn and his wife Laura of Gettysburg, and a brother-in-law Lee Horst of Gettysburg. She was predeceased by one sister, Elsie Horst and three grandsons.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 10 AM, at Ebenezer Bible School, 137 Rampike Hill Rd, Bendersville, with Brothers, Luke Bennetch, Virgil Heisey, and Darvin Halteman officiating. Burial will be in Mummasburg Church Cemetery, Gettysburg. Serving as pallbearers will be Zack Sensenig, Denver Sensenig, Leon Groff, Weston Nolt, Dustin Garman and Tyler Garman. A viewing will be held at the church on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 1-3 PM and 5-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Mennonite Church, 145 Montsera Rd, Carlisle, PA 17015.
