James D. Bly, 85, died Sunday, December 13, 2020, at his home. He was the husband of Martha P. “Marti” (Warner) Bly, his wife of 58 years.
Jim was born June 1, 1935, in Tyrone Twp., the son of the late Marion L. and Mary R. (Hausenfluck) Bly
Jim was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Dover, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He loved to play bluegrass music on his guitar, and singing hymns.
In addition to his wife Marti, Jim is survived by a son, Greg A. Bly and his wife Aileen of East Berlin, a daughter, Lori A. Cook and her companion Bob Anthony of East Berlin, a grandson, Travis J. Cook of East Berlin, three step grandchildren, Derek, Debbie and Anthony, two great grandsons, Mason and Conner Cook, a brother Jesse Bly and his wife Dawn of York Springs, and two sisters, Helen Berkheimer of Thomasville, and Dottie Berkheimer and her husband Ray of York. He was predeceased by four brothers, Melvin, Roy, Fred and Russel Bly, and a sister, Irene Howe.
