Harvey J. Zook, Jr

Harvey J. Zook, Jr, 91, of New Oxford, passed Monday, April 8, 2024 at The Brethren Home Community. He was the husband of the late Carol E. (Figart) Zook, his wife of 58 years, who passed April 2, 2015.

Harvey was born April 28, 1932 in Chambersburg, the son of the late Harvey J. and Velva (Olberholtzer) Zook, Sr.

Harvey was a member of Morning Hour Chapel, East Berlin, and taught 5th grade at New Oxford Elementary School for 30 years. He was a member of New Oxford Lions Club, and a Cub Scout Pack leader. Harvey enjoyed traveling bird watching, and was an avid reader.

Surviving are two sons, Harvey J. Zook, III and his wife Rose, of Orrstown, and Joseph L. Zook of Tulsa OK, five grandchildren, Steven Brenize, Joseph Brenize, Sarah Zook, Katherine Mayo, and Emily Upchurch, and eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Grace Barnick and a brother, Avery Zook.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 3 PM, at Nicarry Meeting House of The Brethren Home Community, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford with Pastor Linda Titzell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Morning Hour Chapel, 491 Germany Rd, East Berlin, PA 17316. A visitation will be held at Nicarry Meeting House from 2 PM until the time of the service. Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements.
