Harold W. Howe, 91, of New Oxford, passed Friday, November 17, 2023, surrounded by his family, at the home of his daughter, Wanda (Rick) Spahr, East Berlin. He was the husband of the late Reba R. (Groupe) Howe, his wife of 34 years, who passed on January 26, 1989.
Harold was born March 25, 1932, in Hanover, the son of the late Jacob L. and Ruth C. (Myers) Howe.
Harold also resided with his daughter, Tammy Jo Pearson and her husband Dean for 16 years, and attended Harvest Time Temple in Hanover. He was a self-employed mason and was co-owner of Howe Brothers Masonry for over 30 years until his retirement. Harold enjoyed working on the family farm, hunting, snowmobiling, family gatherings and trips, and church events. Harold always lit up a room with a big smile and his little jokes. He surely loved and adored his family and God with his whole heart.
Harold is survived by three daughters, Renee D. Davino and her husband Donn, and Tammy Jo Pearson and her husband Dean, all of New Oxford, and Wanda L. Spahr and her husband Rick of East Berlin, seven grandchildren, Troy Luckenbaugh, Travis Luckenbaugh, Crystal Charles and her husband Jason, Jason Spahr and his wife Danielle, Jared Spahr, Derek Pearson and his wife Amber, and Ashley Lentz and her husband Blake, 11 great grandchildren, Logan Luckenbaugh and his wife Olivia, Audrey Simmons and her husband Jacoy, Landon Luckenbaugh, Jake Spahr, Taylor Spahr, Ayla Charles, Isla Mae Charles, Kaylee Pearson, Serenity Pearson, Reia Pearson and Connor Lentz, and a great great granddaughter, Lainey Luckenbaugh. He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Wolfe, and a brother, Luther Howe.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 11 AM, at Harvest Time Temple, 700 Black Rock Rd, Hanover, with Rev. Fred Mummert officiating. Burial will private. A viewing will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
