George H. Noel

George H. Noel, 86, was called home to his Heavenly Father on Friday, December 21, 2018, at Manor Care North.  He was the fiancée of Mary C. Walker.

George was born December 23, 1931, in New Oxford, the son of the late Augustus H. and Maud M. (Haverstock) Noel.

George was proud of his service with the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles Division, and he was a member of St. Rosa Lima Church in York.  He worked for 32 years as a truck driver with McCrory’s, with over two million miles of safe driving.  Following retirement, George worked for G.B. Groft & Sons in Mt. Rock.  He was a member of the New Oxford Social & Athletic Club, and he had many friends that he enjoyed reliving truck driving experiences with, as well as chauffeuring family and friends to their many appointments and taking Mary to and from work daily.  George and Mary were known to many as Santa and Mrs. Claus.

In addition to his fiancée and best friend Mary, George is survived by a brother, Wayne Noel, a sister, Janet Ohler, a nephew, Larry Baker, two nieces, Linda Noel and Delene Bowers, and many cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St, New Oxford, with Rev. Daniel Richards officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rosa Lima Church, 950 W.
