Charles Gelsinger Obituary

Charles W. Gelsinger, 86, passed Sunday, July 31, 2022, at his home.  He was the husband of Virginia M. (Weber) Gelsinger, his wife of 63 years.

Charles was born January 1, 1936, in Bloserville, the son of the late Guy R. and Alma E. (Strause) Gelsinger.

Charles was a long-time resident of Mechanicsburg.  An active member at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mechanicsburg. Presently a member of St Paul’s Red Run Church, East Berlin.  He served in the U.S. Air Force and was co-owner of Rothermel’s Florist.  He retired from Fulton Bank, was active in many charitable organizations in Harrisburg through his work at Fulton Bank, was a member of Eureka-West Shore Masonic Lodge #302, Harrisburg Consistory, and was a volunteer at Mechanicsburg Area Meals on Wheels.

In addition to his wife Virginia, Charles is survived by a son, David E. Gelsinger and his wife Donna of East Berlin, five grandchildren Alex, Jesse (Greta), Erica Grothe (Christopher), Jacob and Isaac, three great grandchildren, and a daughter-in-law, Cindy Gelsinger of Mechanicsburg.  He was predeceased by a son, Michael A. Gelsinger, a brother, George Gelsinger, and a sister, Ruth Wolf.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 11 AM at St. Paul’s “Red Run” Church, 6623 Davidsburg Rd, East Berlin, with Rev. Zach Galemore officiating.  Burial will be private.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church.  Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 306 Harrisburg St, East Berlin, is in charge of arrangements.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
