A devoted and loving son, Captain Brian M. Wilkinson entered into eternal rest July 26, 2021. His life was lived to the fullest as a true servant of Christ. He intentionally looked to the good and well-being of others in every facet of his life. He was man of integrity, loyalty and wisdom.
Brian was born September 17, 1969, in Abbottstown, the son of Norma C. (Parr) Wilkinson of Hanover, and the late Drayton M. Wilkinson.
Brian was a member of Harvest Chapel in Abbottstown, received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Messiah College and served the military for a total of 26 years. As part of the PA National Guard, his active duty status included deployments to Iraq, Germany and various US locations. Over his period of tenure he served as a Platoon Trainer, an Instructor for Accelerated Officer Candidate School, Executive Officer, Company Commander and achieved his currently held rank as Captain.
In addition to his mother, Brian is survived by a half-sister, Sharon M. Howarth and her husband Matt of York, his spiritual brother and sister, Rick and Shirl Grimes of New Oxford, and an aunt, Geraldine Emig of Abbottstown.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021, at 11 AM, at Harvest Chapel, 6947 York Rd, Abbottstown, with Pastor Don Wolabaugh officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Abbottstown. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday, from 10 AM until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Harvest Chapel.
