Bradley E. “Pappy” Rice, 77, while surrounded by his loved ones, began his walk with the Lord on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at his home. He was the husband of Sharon (Raffensperger) Rice.
Brad was born March 19, 1947, in York, the son of the late Edward and Betty (Miller) Rice.
Brad was a member of Faith Christian Fellowship in East Berlin, and retired from L&H Trucking. Everyone that encountered Brad knew his love for them and for life itself was genuine. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family, his friends, and his animals on the many camping adventures at White Ass Acres. Brad served our country as a Marine as well as an accomplished trainer of attack dogs while living in CA. With Sharon’s guidance and support, Brad accepted Christ into his heart on June 25, 2022. Before Sunday service, he could be relied upon to greet members and guests with a great big contagious smile. Brad and Sharon were instrumental in starting the food pantry at their church.
In addition to his loving wife Sharon, Brad is survived by his children, David Rice and his wife Colleen, Jason Rice and his wife Kelly, Jerry Johnson, nine grandchildren, Jacob Rice and his wife Mackenzie, Sydney Rice, Stella Rice, Jackson Rice, Ryan Rice and his wife Mandy, Amanda Rice, Samantha Schmidt and her husband Greg, Tucker Rice and Kate Rice, seven great grandchildren, Emma Rice, Layla Rice, Jenna Rice, Madeline Grace, Caylee Schmidt, Ava Schmidt, and Maverick Schmidt, a brother-in-law, Fred Raffensperger and his children Shane and his wife Megan, and Haley, and his siblings, Lynn Donovan, Ellen Hampton, Patricia Bortner, Pamela Altland and Shirley Ott. He was predeceased by a son, Bobby Rice, a daughter, Jeanna Beckner, and two brothers, Edward Rice, II and Frank Rice.
A service to celebrate Brad’s life will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 10 AM, at Faith Christian Fellowship Church, 760 Germany Rd, East Berlin, with Pastor Tim Brown officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the food pantry at the church. Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 306 Harrisburg St, East Berlin, is in charge of arrangements.
