William “Bill” G. Shellehamer, 85 years, died in his home on his beloved farmland he labored on for 60 years, surrounded by his adoring family.
Bill was born in Harrisburg Hospital on January 7, 1941, to the late Violet (nee Kitzmiller) and George Shellehamer.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Nancy A. Shellehamer (nee Bechtel) and his adoring children William, Jr. (Brenda), Patty (Jeff), Lisa (Rick), and Dana (Scott) as well as his fan club grandchildren, Alicia, Angel, Zach, Michaela, Amber, Hayley, Crystal and Jessica, all of whom have expanded Bill’s fan base with his great grandchildren, Darren, Hunter, Jayden, Carter, Bailey, Aubrey, Rayelle, Brinley and Silas.
He is also survived by his three brothers Richard (Donna), Jerry and Donald (Sue).
Bill loved his land, his agricultural heritage, his family and his Lord. Sprint car racing was a passion that he held dear into his last days, often asking the grands who won the last race.
At Bill’s request a private family service of interment will be held at a special place of his choosing.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in commemoration of Bill’s passion for farming may be to the next generation of farmers through the FFA.
