Obituary

William L. "Bill" Leonard, 82, passed Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at The Brethren Home Community.  He was the husband of the late Kay L. (Yealey) Leonard, his wife of 52 years, who passed February 11, 2018.

Bill was born June 16, 1940, in Hanover, the son of the late Neal E. and Mary A. (Richard) Leonard, Sr.

Bill was a 1958 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, served in the U.S. Army, and retired in 2000 from P.H. Glatfelter after 35 years of service.  He was a life member of McSherrystown Fish & Game, and McSherrystown Home Association, and he was a member of Hanover AMVETS, and National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association.  Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved reading, watching golf, and family gatherings.

Bill is survived by two daughters, Mikki L. Wheeler and her husband Marty of New Oxford, and Jenn L. Conrad and her husband Matt of Charlotte, NC, two grandchildren, Alyshia K. Morrison and her husband Jason, and Luke W. Wheeler, three great grandchildren, Benjamin, Harper and Addison, a brother, James P. Leonard and his wife Robbin of McSherrystown, a sister, Linda M. Leonard and her husband Paul Engelhardt of Hanover, a sister-in-law, Diane M. Leonard of McSherrystown, and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother, Neal E. Leonard, Jr, and two sisters, Chris Leonard and Betty Keffer.

The family would like to thank Pennsylvania Cancer Specialists and the staff at the Brethren Home Community for the excellent care and compassion they gave to Bill.
