William L. Derr, 70, passed Monday, January 29, 2024, at his home.

Bill was born September 9, 1953, in Carlisle, the son of the late Amos and Minnie (Sowers) Derr.

Bill was a 1971 graduate of Carlisle High School, earned his bachelor's degree from Wilson College, and retired in 2018 from Carlisle SynTech, after 47 years of service.  He loved decorating the house for all the holidays for the kids and families in the neighborhood, sitting on his back deck relaxing, and having family and friends over for gatherings.

Bill is survived by his partner of 27 years, William H. "Bill" Bechtel, his friend Kim McKinney of Camp Hill, a sister-in-law, C. Irene Wolfe of Taneytown, MD,  a brother-in-law, Donnie VanPelt of Hanover, and his Cabin Party family.  He was predeceased by a brother, Eugene Derr.
