Obituary

Warren Thomas Norman “Skip” MacAdams, 82, of Abbottstown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Skip proudly served six years in the National Guard.

He worked alongside his father in the family grocery store and catering business, spent time at the family restaurant The Dorian, and later worked as a Sears security guard. In 1980, he began a career with Motorola as an electrical engineer specializing in radio communications, which brought his family to Maryland. In 2004, he returned to Pennsylvania, where he volunteered with the East Berlin Fire Department as Fire Police.

Skip met his wife, Penelope “Penny,” through amateur radio in 1961, and they married in 1966, sharing 60 years together. A lifelong amateur radio enthusiast, he was a member of the local Amateur Radio Club. He also enjoyed all electronics, camping, trips to Williamsburg, VA, and spending time with his pets—especially his German Shepherd, Anda. A proud Mason, he was a 32nd-degree member of the Philadelphia 506 Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Scott Edward Warren MacAdams (d. 2013). He is survived by his wife Penny; daughter Staci Tosh and husband Tommy; grandchildren Ryan MacAdams, Kaitlyn Conrad (Christian), Corey MacAdams, Lindsay Powlus-Tosh (Justice), and Jacob Tosh; and his great-grandchildren.

Skip will be remembered as a man who was deeply lovable, endlessly kind, and delightfully snarky—a devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, volunteer, and friend whose presence will be missed more than words can say.
