Tyson H. Balek, 9, died Thursday, June 22, 2017 at his residence.
Tyson was born July 9, 2007, in Gettysburg, the son of John C. and Vanessa D. (Westley) Balek, Jr. of East Berlin.
Tyson was a member of Zwingli U.C.C. in East Berlin, a 4th grader at Bermudian Springs where he wrestled and played football and baseball, and he loved to hunt and fish.
In addition to his parents, John and Vanessa, Tyson is survived by two brothers, Wesley J. Little and Jhonathan J. Balek, both of East Berlin; maternal grandparents, Edwin and Rebecca Westley of Heidlersburg; paternal grandparents, John Balek, Sr., and Joyce Topper of East Berlin; paternal grandparents, Leon and Jane Moul of York Springs; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends. He was predeceased by his beloved aunt, Gigi.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Zwingli U.C.C., 403 W. King St, East Berlin, with his pastor, Rev. Dr. Margaret J. Wise, officiating. Burial will be in Hampton Union Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an account set up for Tyson at www.gofundme.com.
