Thomas Lamano, Sr, of Abbottstown, died Sunday, December 31, 2017, at his residence. He was the husband of Lucrezia (Nasta) Lamano.
Tom was born February 23, 1943, in Flushing, NY, the son of the late Bartolomeo and Maria (Salerno) Lamano.
Tom moved to West Babylon, Long Island, at the age of 13. He married Lucrezia in 1960, and raised a family there. He moved to St. James, NY in 1985, and retired to Abbottstown, PA in 2013.
Tom graduated from Seton Hall High School in NY, and attended the Academy of Aeronautics in NY. He was a true craftsman, and was trained, certified and educated in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, furniture making and was a master mechanic. He was also an entrepreneur with Tom Lamano Garage, Rish Rebuilders, and the Distributor Rebuilder, and was shop manager at Dejana Truck from 1996-2014. Tom loved his family dearly and treated many friends as family. He was a master of all trades and was very respected with the auto and truck industry in the NY area.
In addition to his wife Lucrezia, Tom is survived by a son, Thomas LaMano, Jr, a daughter, Lucrezia Fehntrich and her husband Brian, a daughter-in-law, Debra Speoring LaMano, eight grandchildren, Brian, Jason, Christopher, Kevin, Michelle, Thomas III, Michael and Joseph, four great grandchildren, Shea, Madison, Mia and Jaxson, and two brothers, Robert and Bart Lamano.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11 AM at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, PA, with Father Sam Waters officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Abbottstown. Viewings will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, and on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service.
