Sue A. (Smith) Eckert, 63 went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 14, 2022, surrounded by family. She was the wife and best friend of Ervin "Oz" Eckert, her husband of 33 years.
Sue was born May 6, 1959 in York, the daughter of Betty L. (Cousler) Smith-Hyser of Dallastown and the late Larry K. Smith.
Sue was a member of Cross Keys Fellowship Church, and was employed with Jackson Hewitt for over 20 years. Sue enjoyed genealogy and scrapbooking. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and her favorite place was Myrtle Beach. Sue was an angel among us, who lived by one of her favorite Bible passages, 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.
In addition to her husband Ervin, Sue is survived by four sons, Shane Eckert, Chase Eckert, Travis Eckert and Chad Eckert, ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three brothers, Bryan Smith of Thomasville, Thomas Smith of Wrightsville, and Christopher Smith of Dallastown. She was predeceased by a brother, Timothy Smith and a step father, Ed Hyser.
A celebration of Sue's life will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 11AM, at Cross Keys Fellowship Church, 785 Berlin Rd., New Oxford, with Pastor Allen Joines officiating. A meal will be served immediately following the service. The viewing will be held at the church on Saturday from 9-11AM. Sue will be laid to rest on Saturday at 2pm, at Kreutz Creek Cemetery, Hallam. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church at Ckfchurch.org. Arrangements are being handled by Feiser Funeral Home, New Oxford. Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
