Sherman W. Kimmel, 82, formerly of East Berlin, died Monday, June 27, 2016, at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Gettysburg.
Sherman was born March 29, 1934 in Latimore Twp., Adams Co., the son of the late Mervin W. and Charlotte K. (Leathery) Kimmel.
Sherman served in the U.S. Army during the occupation in Germany following WWII, and was a member of Red Mount U.M. Church in East Berlin, and the East Berlin V.F.W. Post #8896. He was also an antique dealer and fur trader.
Sherman is survived by a sister, Betty J. Albright and her husband, Henry of East Berlin; 2 nieces, Lesa D. Albright Faraci, and Jennifer L. Landeata and her husband, Lyndon, all of East Berlin; a great niece, Gabrielle Landeata of East Berlin; a great nephew, Addison Landeata of East Berlin; and several cousins.
Following cremation, a graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Red Mount U.M. Church Cemetery, 1883 Baltimore Pike, East Berlin, with Elder Harry B. Nell officiating. Military honors will be provided by the East Berlin V.F.W. Memorial contributions may be made to Red Mount U.M. Cemetery Fund, 85 York St, Wellsville, PA 17365 or to the East Berlin V.F.W. Auxiliary, c/o Janey Kopp, P.O. Box 375, East Berlin, PA 17316. Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., 306 Harrisburg St, East Berlin, is in charge of arrangements.
