Sarah (Krone) Sleighter, 94, died Sunday, August 5, 2018, at UPMC Pinnacle Hanover Hospital.  She was the wife of the late C. Robert Sleighter, her husband of 65 years, who died March 10, 2012.

Sarah was born June 15, 1924, in York, the daughter of the late Maurice and Emma (Moul) Krone.

Sarah was a member of Hanover First Church of God, and along with her husband and in-laws, founded Sleighter's Furniture in New Oxford in 1947.  In her earlier years, Sarah was very active in the Girls Scouts and the Salvation Army.

Sarah is survived by a daughter, Sally S. Smith and her husband Jerome of New Oxford, and a grandson, Josh A. Smith and his wife Hollie of Thomasville.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at 10 AM, at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, with Pastor Dan Thomas officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hanover.  A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 AM until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 50 E.
