Samuel Hans "Sam" Funner, 95, died Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford. He was the husband of Ruella (Travis) Funner, of New Oxford.

Sam was born October 29, 1925, in Rathdrum, ID, the son of the late Michael J. and Christina K. (Kramer) Funner.

Sam was a member of, First United Methodist Church in Hanover, National Education Association, California Teachers Association, and The Brethren Home Community Villagers Council.

In addition to his wife, Ruella, Sam is survived by two daughters, Pamela Maness and Judy L. Rice of New Haven, MO,  a son, Daniel Funner of Sacramento, CA, three step daughters, Ruella M. Barnes of Elkridge MD, Pat Ashley of Susanville, CA, and Martha Travis-Cook of Corinth, VT. eightgrandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one brother, Carl J. Funner of Yakama, WA, He was predeceased by a brother Aaron A. Funner, three sisters, Anna M. Russo, Esther L. Frost, Hilda G. Roberonta and a step daughter Jo Sevall.

Following cremation, burial will at a future date in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be mad to the Habitat for Humanity, P.O.
