Samuel Lee Coover, 66, died on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at his home in Abbottstown, PA.  He was the husband of Faith Elaine Yana.

Sam was born on January 14, 1954, in Carlisle, PA, the son of the late Walter R. and Miriam M. (Peiper) Coover.

Sam was a proud patriot and former Sergeant in the United States Army assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, NC during the 1970s with his lifelong friend, John Hilton. Upon his return from service, his careers included Musselman's in Gardners, Zeigler Brothers in East Berlin, and at R.H. Sheppard in Hanover until his passing.  Sam was an avid hunter, amateur carpenter, Trump supporter, landscaper, and hard worker.

In addition to his wife, Sam is survived by a daughter, Charity Baker of Bonnieville, KY, his son, Sam Jr, and his wife Mary Anne of New Oxford, six grandchildren, Hope, Rebecca, Patricia, Elizabeth, Christopher, and Jenna, and, two great grandchildren, Delilah and Kevin. Sam is also survived by his brothers and sisters Jack Coover, Bertha Miller, Lena Stitt, Irvin Coover, Shirley Mowery, and Ed Coover. Sam leaves behind his best friend and hunting buddy, Rod Sentz.

In addition to his parents, Sam is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters George Coover, Katie Whistler, Darlene Coover, Rich Coover, Bob Coover, and Doris Caldwell.

Family will have a private memorial at a later date.  Sam's ashes will be placed at Fort Indiantown Gap, PA and spread in Potter County, PA per his wishes.  Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
