Ruth A. (Smith) Black, 81, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at The Brethren Home Community.  She was the wife of the late Kenneth W. Black, her husband of 54 years, who died June 25, 2008.

Ruth was born December 13, 1935, in Bonneauville, the daughter of the late Harry W. and Regina B. (Orndorff) Smith.

Ruth was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Oxford.

Ruth is survived by her children, Ronald W. Black of New Oxford, Robert W. Black and his wife Shelley of York, Cindy A. Black of Abbottstown, Cathy A. Wilson of New Oxford, and Donald W. Black and his wife Lorrie of New Oxford, 13 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Wanda J. Black, a grandson, Richard W. Black, a great granddaughter, Krysta An Slusser, four brothers, Norman, Alfred, Harold and Ernest Smith, and five sisters, Mary Theda Henschke, Shirley Henschke, Mercedes Staub, Jean Poland and Madelyn Smith.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St, New Oxford, with Rev. Michael Letteer officiating.  Burial will be in Wenksville Cemetery.  A viewing will be held on Sunday, from 6-8 PM at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford.  Memorial contributions may be made to The Brethren Home Community, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, PA  17350.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
