Rosalie A. (Sanders) Hockensmith, 75, passed Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at her home. She was the wife of Wayne F. Hockensmith, her husband of 54 years.

Rosalie was born May 30, 1950, in Gettysburg, the daughter of the late Earl F. and Cathern V. (Welty) Sanders.

Rosalie was a 1969 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, and was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica, Hanover. She was employed at Kmart for 20 years, then at Delias until her retirement.

In addition to her husband Wayne, Rosalie is survived by a son, Joseph Hockensmith and his wife Christine of Littlestown, a daughter, Kerry Bly of Hanover, six grandchildren, Jacob Hockensmith, Wyatt Hockensmith, Cadence Hockensmith, Creek Hockensmith, Reno Bly and his fiancé Sheryl Stockman, and Skylar Bly, two step grandchildren, Janna (Monn) Rippeon and Alisha Oyler, a great grandson, Haycelin Hockensmith, three step great grandchildren, Lyric, Arrow and Winter, numerous nieces and nephews, five brothers, Christopher Sanders and his wife Eileen of Littlestown, James Sanders of Littlestown, Stephen Sanders and his wife Tae-Cha of Hanover, Anthony Sanders and his wife Teresa of Aspers, and Timothy Sanders and his wife Jenny of Gardners, two sisters, Cecilia Elliot and her husband Christopher of New Oxford, and Bernadette Graybill and her husband Gary of Spring Grove, and a sister-in-law, Linda Krout and her husband Dean of Gettysburg. She was predeceased by a daughter, LeeAnn M. Hockensmith, and a brother, Earl F. Sanders, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 10 AM, at Sacred Heart Basilica, 30 Basilica Dr, Hanover, with Rev. Dwight Schlaline officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Sunday, from 6-8 PM, at Feiser Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, with prayers at 8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Compassus Hospice, 3314 Market St, Ste 201, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
