Ronald J. Fries, 90, passed Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at his home.  He was the husband of Arlene R. (Litz) Fries, his wife of 67 years.

Ron was born October 29, 1934, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Joseph A. and Helen Fries.

Ron was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbottstown, and retired from Duquesne Light after 43 years of service.

In addition to his wife Arlene, Ron is survived by a son, Jeffrey R. Fries and his wife Cynthia of Roanoke, VA, a daughter, Susan E. Schaefer and her husband David of New Oxford, and a sister, Audrey Hightower of Mt. Lebanon.  He was predeceased by a brother, Louise Fries and a sister, Dolores Dotter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 10 AM, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6084 W. Canal Rd, Abbottstown, with Rev. Philip Burger officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  A viewing will be held on Friday from 6-8 PM at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 306 Harrisburg St, East Berlin.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
