Robert J. Powers, Jr, 84, died Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of Christine L. (Riley) Powers, who died October 17, 2013, his wife of 46 years.
Robert was born March 8, 1933 in Cockeysville, MD, the son of the late Robert James and Ceclia Jessep (Stroh) Powers, Sr.
Robert is survived by four daughters, Kathryn C. Groft and her husband, Scott of Hanover, Ellen M. Shenberger and her husband, Thomas of Hanover, Roberta L. Hughes of York, and Theresa A. Roberts of Portland, MI; two sons, David E. Powers of East Berlin, and Robert K. Powers of Dover; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister in law, Emma Snyder of Dover; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Friday, April 21, 2017 at 7 p.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 306 Harrisburg St., East Berlin, with Rev. Elizabeth D. George officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Foundation, 3544 N.
