Robert G. Flickinger, 80, passed Saturday, February 10, 2024, at The Brethren Home Community. He was the husband of Sandra W. (Wise) Flickinger, his wife of 44 years.
Bob was born December 25, 1943, in Adams Co., the son of the late Ralph J. and Katharine A. (Walker) Flickinger.
Bob was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Harney, MD, where he was a past council president, York-Adams 2 Cylinder Club, and New Oxford Social and Athletic Club. He was a dairy and crop farmer, and a well-known auctioneer owning Flickinger's Auction House, and also being employed at Redding's Auction House and Norm's Auction House after apprenticing under Dennis J. Plunkert, Auctioneer. In his later years, Bob found his niche crafting and building small versions of log homes and buildings.
In addition to his wife Sandy, Bob is survived by several cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Janet R. Ruhlman.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 11 AM, at Nicarry Meeting House of The Brethren Home Community, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, with Pastor Peter J. Naschke and Rev. Linda Titzell officiating. Burial will be in New Oxford Cemetery. There will be no viewing, however, the family will receive friends on Friday at Nicarry from 10 AM until the time of the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Rife, Eric Rife, Eugene Baugher, Larry Swartz, Steve Heller, Carl Norris, and Fred Wilke, and honorary pallbearers Al Shaffer and Wayne Nell. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
