Riley A. Emig, 19, of Abbottstown, passed suddenly, Saturday, July 13, 2024, in Hanover.
Riley was born May 10, 2005, in Hanover, the son of Brett A. and Lauren M. (Riley) Emig of Abbottstown.
Riley was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Abbottstown, a 2023 graduate of Spring Grove High School, and was employed with Old Dominion Trucking Co. as a fork lift operator. Riley's passion was racing cars. Riley started his racing career at the age of six, and concluded his career racing 410 sprint cars by the age of 18. Riley was known as a loyal, loving, compassionate young man by all. Riley will continue to help others through the Gift of Life Program Organ Donation.
In addition to his parents, Brett and Lauren, Riley is survived by two sisters, Haley M. Emig and Alley N. Emig, both of Abbottstown, a brother, Ethan J. Stuffle of Biglerville, three uncles, James M. Emig and his wife Melinda of Wrightsville, Marcos A. Emig and his wife Sarah of Lancaster, and Jason D. Riley and his wife Sarah of York, a paternal grandmother, Josephine Holtzinger and her husband Dave of Abbottstown and a maternal grandfather, Kirk D. Riley of Dover. He was predeceased by a maternal grandmother, Joni L. Riley and a paternal grandfather, Kenneth E. Emig.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 10 AM, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 100 E. Water St, Abbottstown, with Rev. Shawn Berkebile officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will held at the church on Saturday from 9 AM until the time of service.
