Richard W. Sowers, 72, passed Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at his home. He was the husband of Brenda L. (Bish) Sowers, his wife of 35 years.

Richard was born January 18, 1951, in Hanover, the son of the late Elweltra S. and Ethel R. (Leese) Sowers.

Richard retired from Glatfelter, Spring Grove, after 40 years, and was a member of East Berlin Fish and Game.

In addition to his wife, Brenda, Richard is survived by two daughters, Rachel M. Laughman and her husband Joshua of New Oxford, and Julia A. Bitner and her husband Zachary of York Springs, a son, Brandon L. Sowers, of East Berlin, five grandchildren, Dakota Laughman, Caidyn Laughman, Darren Laughman, Ayla Bitner Cole Bitner, and several brothers and sisters. He was predeceased by two brothers.
