Obituary

Richard M. "Dick" Hoover, 96, passed Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Transitions Healthcare, Gettysburg.  He was the husband of the late Madeline E. "Mattie" (Stambaugh) Hoover, his wife of 69 years, who passed May 25, 2019.

Dick was born May 28, 1928, in Spring Grove, the son of the late William M. and Esther (Goodyear) Hoover.

Dick was a member of Heidlersburg United Brethren Church of Christ, and retired in 1990 from Thomasville Lime and Stone.

Dick is survived by his children, Charles R. Hoover and his wife Julie of New Oxford, Debra J. Kohler and her husband Richard of Mill Creek, and Gary M. Hoover and his wife Shirl of New Oxford, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, a great great granddaughter, and two sisters, Almena Mokoto of Stewartstown and Naomi Riunoid of Shrewsbury.  He was predeceased by a son, Terry L. Hoover, a daughter, Karen E. Hoover, three sisters, Jane Rahe, Eleanor Toddes and Susan Hoover and five brothers, William, Kenneth, Calvin, Arthur and David Hoover.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 10 AM, at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, with Rev. Craig Loewen officiating.  Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Church of The Brethren Cemetery, Spring Grove.  A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 PM.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
