Richard W. Eckenrode, III, 68, passed Friday, April 25, 2025, at WellSpan York Hospital.  He was the husband of Susan J. (Wagman) Eckenrode, his wife of 50 years.

Rich was born September 13, 1956, in York, the son of the late Joanna M. (Fife) Eckenrode.

Rich was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Dover, and served in the U.S. Air Force.  He loved fishing, boating, woodworking, spending time with his family, and looking at his beautiful wife.

In addition to his wife Sue, Rich is survived by two daughters; Sandy S. Kehr and her husband Chad of East Berlin, and Jennifer L. Scarlato and her companion Chris of Dover, a son; Jason S. Eckenrode and his wife Ashley of East Berlin, 10 grandchildren; Jason Eckenrode, Collin Kehr and his wife Leyda, Courtney Schnars, Chelsea Stoner and her husband Jacob, Autumn Schnars, Samantha Schnars, Colton Kehr, Carolynn Kehr, Kirabella Eckenrode and Shaylee Eckenrode, and 11 great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a granddaughter; Nichole Parsley.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 11 AM, at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 5005 Carlisle Rd, Dover, with Pastor Sterling Walsh officiating.  Burial will be private.  There will be no viewing, however, the family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church or American Diabetes Association, 3544 N.
