Raymond L. Swope, 89, passed Friday, May 27, 2022, at UPMC Hanover Hospital.  He was the husband of Esther M. (Bowman) Swope, his wife of 70 years.

Raymond was born January 7, 1933, in Hamilton Twp., Adams Co., the son of the late Lloyd L. and Sarah V. (Miller) Swope.

Raymond was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Abbottstown, and East Berlin Lions Club.  He retired from Thomasville Stone and Lime after more than 30 years of service.

In addition to his wife Esther, Raymond is survived by a son, Edward A. Swope of Hanover, and a sister, Mary Louise Myers and her husband Robert of Abbottstown.

Funeral services will be private.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, 100 E.
