Quay J. Menges, 89, of Abbottstown, passed Saturday, July 8, 2023, at UPMC Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of Louise (Baumgardner) Menges, his wife of 64 years.
Quay was born February 2, 1934 in Abbottstown, the son of the late John A. and Marie G. (Altland) Menges.
Quay was a life-long member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Abbottstown, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired from Utz Foods as a route salesman, and was a member of Catholic War Veterans of America. Quay's life revolved around his family.
In addition to his wife Louise, Quay is survived by a son, Mike Menges and his wife Barb of New Oxford, a daughter, Cindy Miller and her husband Dale of Aliquippa, a son, Tony Menges and his wife Deb of Laurens, SC, a son, Jim Menges and his wife Denna of Orrstown, 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a granddaughter and 4 siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 10 AM, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6084 W. Canal Rd, Abbottstown, with Rev. Philip Burger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be at the church on Saturday from 9 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or a charity of your choice. Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements.
