Nelson J. Duft, 90, died peacefully at his home Tuesday, June 22, 2021.  He was the husband of Virginia M. (Bukowski) Doonis, and the late Elsie L. (Dice) Duft.

Nelson was born November 29, 1930, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Shields H. and Blanche L. (Barndollar) Duft.

Nelson was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbottstown, and he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

In addition to his wife Virginia, Nelson is survived by his children, Ronald J. Duft of Woonsocket, RI, Thomas L. Duft of Durango, CO, Sandra M. Cleary of New Port Richey, FL, Patricia L. Gauvin of Baltimore, MD, and Anthony J. Duft of Westminster, MD, a stepdaughter, Michelle McLoughlin of Towson, MD, a stepson, Nicholas Doonis of Towson, MD, a stepdaughter, Chara Pitarra of Towson, MD, a stepdaughter, Misty Doonis of Glen Arm, MD, 15 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 4 step grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a son, James M. Duft, and two sisters, Blanche and Dorothy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 11 AM, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6084 W. Canal Rd, Abbottstown, with Msgr. William Richardson officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  A viewing will be held on Sunday from 2-4 PM at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 306 Harrisburg St, East Berlin, with prayers at 4 PM.  Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.    Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
