Obituary

Mildred I. (Pifer) Lehigh, 96, of New Oxford, died Friday, December 1, 2017, at The Brethren Home Community.  She was the wife of the late Paul E. Miller, Jr, who died in June 1974, and the late Sterling R. Lehigh, who died in September 2005.

Mildred was born April 24, 1921, in York Springs, the daughter of the late Solomon and Irene (Renoll) Pifer.

Mildred was a member of Upper Conewago Church of The Brethren in Abbottstown, and a 1939 graduate of York Springs High School.

Mildred is survived by a son, Arthur L. Miller and his wife Ginger of San Roman, CA, a daughter, Margaret R. Himmelfarb and her husband Harvey of College Park, MD, three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and three sisters, Alice Hartman of Spring Grove, Elizabeth Lehigh of McConnellsburg, and Sylvia Marks of Spring Grove.  She was predeceased by three brothers, David, Glen and Roy Pifer.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at 11 AM at the Upper Conewago Church of The Brethren, 391 Mummert's Church Rd, Abbottstown, with Brother Daniel Miller and Brother Allen Nell officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  A viewing will be held at the church on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
