Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mickey Elaine Hess, who left us peacefully on August 25, 2024, in Abbottstown, PA, due to respiratory failure. Born on June 2, 1948, in the historic town of Gettysburg, PA, Mickey blessed the world with her warmth, compassion, and unyielding dedication to her family and community. Mickey was a devoted daughter to the late Walter E. Toddes Jr. and Catherine M. She grew up in a close-knit family, forging strong bonds that lasted a lifetime. Her nurturing spirit led her to a fulfilling career as a nurse, where she provided care and comfort to countless individuals. Her professional life was a testament to her selflessness and dedication to the well-being of others. Mickey's faith was an integral part of her life, and she was an active and cherished member of Salem Gulden's United Methodist Church. Her involvement in the church was a source of strength and solace for her, and she found great joy in her spiritual community. Mickey's life was a tapestry woven with love, kindness, and generosity. She is survived by her loving son, Eric Hess, his wife, Dallea Hess, and their daughter, Lluna, who brought immense joy and pride to Mickey. She is also survived by her dear sister, Linda Davis, and Linda's husband, Richard Davis; her brother, Walter E. Toddes, and his wife, Dawn Toddes. Mickey's legacy of love continues through her three nieces, Lisa Foltz and her husband, Rob, Rhonda Baker and her husband William, and Dana Tanabe and her husband David and their son Ronin. Each of them carries a piece of Mickey's spirit in their hearts. Mickey's life will be celebrated on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 11 AM, at Feiser Funeral Home, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, PA.  Burial will be in Salem U.M. Cemetery. The service will be a time for family and friends to come together to honor and remember the extraordinary woman who touched their lives in countless ways.  A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Johns Hopkins Cancer Center, 5505 Hopkins Bayview Cr, Baltimore, MD 21224.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
