Michael M. Shemon, 96, died Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at his residence.  He was the husband of the late Carrie V. (Myers) Shemon, who died January 23, 1974.

Michael was born October 17, 1922, in Keisterville, the son of the late John and Anna (Rester) Shemon.

Michael was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hampton and a 1942 graduate of Biglerville High School.  He then worked for Glen Martin Airplane factory in Middle River, MD, assembling planes for WWII before joining the U.S. Army and serving with the 503rd Division.  After the war, he worked at Inland Container Corp in Biglerville, until he became a full time farmer.  Michael was a member of the PA Farm Bureau, the Adams Co. Farm Bureau, and was a life member of the Hampton Fire Company, East Berlin V.F.W., and the American Legion in Biglerville.

Michael is survived by two sons, Michael L. Shemon, and Donald E. Shemon and his wife Tianna, all of New Oxford, a granddaughter, Jackie S. Hoover, and 4 great grandsons, Brandon, Nathan, Logan and Ethan Hoover.  He was predeceased by three brothers, John, Charles and Frank Shemon.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 10:30 AM, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 5450 Carlisle Pike New Oxford, with Rev. Beth Folkemer officiating.  Burial will be in Biglerville Cemetery at 2:30 PM.  Viewings will be held on Monday from 6-8 PM at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, and at the church on Tuesday, from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
