Obituary

With deep sadness and immense gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Mearl Samuel Delp, 86, of East Berlin.

Mearl was a kind, gentle, and loving man whose presence brought comfort wherever he went. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Whether you knew him for five minutes or fifty years, he had a way of making you feel welcome, valued, and understood.

Above all else, Mearl was devoted to his family. He adored his wife, Gloria, and cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and loved ones. He lovingly helped raise his grandchildren, creating memories, sharing wisdom, offering guidance, and providing the steady, unconditional love that only a grandfather can give. The lessons he taught, the laughs he shared, and the comfort he provided will remain in their hearts forever.

Mearl’s life was a testament to kindness, patience, and selflessness. He showed his love not through grand gestures, but through everyday acts of care, generosity, and presence. He was the kind of man who would help anyone in need, listen without judgment, and always make time for family and friends.

Though our hearts are broken by this loss, we are comforted by the countless memories he leaves behind and the example he set for all who knew him. We know he was welcomed in Heaven by his daughter Tracy Ruppert, son Dale Ruppert, and many friends and relatives who left this world too soon. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply, in the stories that will continue to be shared, and in the lives he shaped through his gentle spirit and unwavering love.

Mearl Samuel Delp will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice, Community LifeTeam EMS, and Northeast Adams Fire Company for their love and support during this difficult time. We would like everyone touched by Mearl’s kind heart to join the family on Wednesday June 10 from 5pm-7pm at Feiser’s Funeral Home in East Berlin for a public viewing, with cremation and a celebration of life to happen at a later date.
