Obituary

Mary A. (Miller) Zimmerman, 78, passed Friday, December 27, 2024, at Genesis Healthcare, Gettysburg Center.  She was the wife of John A. Zimmerman, her husband of 56 years.

Mary was born December 10, 1946, in Hanover, the daughter of the late Curvin A. and Pauline A. (Hockensmith) Miller.

Mary was a member of St. Joseph "The Worker" Catholic Church in Bonneauville, New Oxford Social & Athletic Club, retired from Utz Quality Foods after more than 20 years of service, and was an avid bingo player.

In addition to her husband John, Mary is survived by a daughter, Ann M. Sanders and her husband Troy Weishaar of Orrtanna, a son, Bruce J. Zimmerman and his wife Megan of KY, 12 grandchildren; Kelsey and Kaylea Sanders, Kyle and Allyson Weishaar, Kierstin, Blake, Makenzie, Austin, Avalyn, Jayci Zimmerman and Landen and Raylee Peck, six sisters; Mildred A. Weaver of Gettysburg, Margaret A. Reichart of Hanover, Martha A. Shanebrook of Hanover, Monica A. Stepler and her husband Craig of Arendtsville, Marie A. McSwine of Brownville, ME, and Michelle A. Fernandez of Abbottstown, five brothers; Michael A. Miller and his wife Sue of Charlevoix, MI, Maurice A. Miller and his wife Jane of New Oxford, M. Joe Miller of Etters, Martin A. "Pork" Miller and his wife Karen of Richmond, KY, and Morgan A. Miller and wife Gina of East Berlin, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  She was predeceased by a son, Charles Miller, four brothers; Moses A., Mark A., Merle A., and Matthew A. Miller, and a sister, Melanie A. Gable.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 11 AM at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, with Rev. Benny Jose officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph "The Worker" Catholic Church Cemetery.  Viewings will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 PM, and on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Michael J.
