Mary C. "Cassie" (Moore) Groft, 96, passed Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Columbia Cottage.  She was the wife of the late Donald E. Groft, Sr, who passed July 27, 2001.

Cassie was born August 20, 1925, in New Oxford, the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Elsie M. (Smith) Moore.

Cassie was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Oxford, and Marion Oxfordites at the church.  She was a 1943 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, branch manager at CCNB Bank in New Oxford, and a volunteer and treasurer with Meals on Wheels.

Cassie is survived by two daughters, Margaret A. "Peg" Lawrence and her husband Edward of Sinking Spring, and Suzanne M. Overdorff and her husband Dean of Hanover, four sons, Donald E. Groft, Jr, and his wife Teresa of Murrell's Inlet, SC, Daniel P. Groft and his wife Pamala of Foresthill, CA, David J. Groft and his wife Patricia of McSherrystown, and Bernard A. "Ben" Groft and his wife Catania of Philadelphia, 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and a sister, Sister Mary Elsa, SCC, (Anna Moore) of Mendham, NJ.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Bernard and Joseph Moore, and two sisters, Regina Gladfelter, and Estella Moore.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 11 AM, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St, New Oxford, with Rev. Keith Carroll officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 6-8 PM, at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, with prayers at 8 PM.  Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church or to Delone Catholic High School, 140 S.
