Mary Lou (Horwedel) Hertz, 83, died, Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at her home. She was the wife of Thomas L. Hertz, her husband of 60 years.

Mary Lou was born July 10, 1934 in Hanover. She was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Mildred C. (Willett) Horwedel.

Mary Lou was a Physical Therapist Assistant with the Brethren Home Community for over 10 years and a volunteer for "God's Meal Barrel" food pantry in Hanover for over 10 years.

In addition to her husband Thomas, Mary Lou is survived by a son, Scott A. Hertz and his companion Terri Myers, of Idaville, two daughters; Stephanie A. King and her husband Robert, of East Berlin and Crystal L. Stiles and her husband Todd of East Berlin, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, three sisters; Rose Phillips, Irene Horwedel and Agnes Horwedel, all of McSherrystown. She was predeceased by two sisters; Shirley Horwedel and Darlene Welty, and two brothers; Charles G. Horwedel and Robert Horwedel.
