Mary Louise (Altand) Frey, passed Friday, May 31, 2024 at the Brethren Home Community. She was the wife of the late William J. Frey, her husband of 63 years, who died December 3, 2014.

Mary Louise was born in East Berlin, the daughter of the late Lawrence P. and Alice M. (Laughman) Altland.

Mary Louise was a graduate of East Berlin High School, Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing, and a life member of Paradise "Holtzschwamm" Lutheran Church, Thomasville, where she taught Sunday School. She a former ICU head Nurse, a nursing supervisor, infection control nurse and an AIDS facilitator for many years, and retired from Hanover Hospital as an RN for over 40 years. Mary Louise was a past board member of the American Cancer Society, a member of the East Berlin Community Library and past president of "Friends of the Library", and a former member of the East Berlin Historical Society.

Mary Louise is survived by two daughters, Barbara A. Becker and her husband Randy of Thomasville, and Nancy L. Markell and her husband Jerrold of Mesa AZ, three grandchildren, Melissa Bryant and her husband Jason, Mandi Heflin and her husband Kirk, and Jerrold Markell and his wife Aimee, and a great grandson Owen.
